I hope Delphine’s head goes to Queenie’s funeral.
American Horror Story Life Lesson #795
nothing heals a broken mother-daughter relationship like attempted murder
Has to be Queenie. Who else would cause Fiona and Marie Laveau to be at the same funeral? Queenie was the only one who mattered to both groups in some way. Plus, it’s a great way to move the plot forward by putting the witches and the voodoo gals in the same space …and somewhere they can’t kill each other (well, they could, but it would be hella inappropriate)
I know Jessica is quite a formidable presence and she can be a little scary because she’s Jessica f***ing Lange. But to me, she is my favorite actress of all time, she is the reason I wanted to act. She’s the first person whose acting I ever saw where I thought, “That. I want to do that.” - Sarah Paulson
i love them omg
Anonymous asked: Only potential snag I could see in your otherwise glowing speculation post is that Cordelia apparently has problems with fertility. The Supreme is supposed to be in "glowing health," quote-unquote. I mean, that could easily be derailed by saying that Hank is actually the one with fertility problems, but! So far, that fact remains about her health. Otherwise, nice post and I totally agree!
Good point about Cordelia’s fertility problems, but as you said, that could be Hank’s issue. I’m spending way too much time thinking about this show (evidently, given my essay-length speculation post!) :)
Why I think Cordelia is the next Supreme
Okay, yesterday I posted that thing about thinking Cordelia is the next Supreme. Here’s why I think it could happen:
Fiona left Cordelia to manage the school alone for years…why?
- Partly because she’s just generally a bit of a crappy mom (still love you though, Fifi)
- …but it could also have been because when Cordelia was young, Fiona might have suspected that she (Delia) was the next Supreme (for whatever reasons) and felt like if she was constantly around her, her powers might have weakened more quickly.
Why then did she come back at all? Maybe because since Cordelia never seemed to develop her powers to Supreme standard, and Fiona was also in a personal crisis, aging and feeling guilty, maybe she thought the coast was clear to return.
But she didn’t bargain on Zoe and Madison etc being there when she showed up, and so now she’s got all of these possible Supremes to contend with, and it’s confusing her and throwing her off the scent of it being Cordelia.
It would be a great irony in so many ways if it were Cordelia. It would be a fascinating plot twist, since pretty much everyone has suspected the rest of them at some point, but Cordelia hasn’t received that much speculation at all.
So what about Cordelia herself? Well, my theory is that since she was totally fucked up by having Fiona for a mother, therefore she associated the Supremacy with complete negativity on every level. Her entire life, she wanted nothing to do with the Supremacy because of her mother and probably also just assumed it wouldn’t happen twice in the same family.
We know from the first episode that she was more interested in concealing the powers of the Coven, keeping them under control and staying hidden. She had seen what out of control selfish power had done to her mother, blah blah blah…
So, since Delia’s powers haven’t really been that dramatic at any point, most people haven’t suspected her. But it’s a possibility that we haven’t seen any dramatic powers from her (apart from the recent visions), because as we know, she was actively trying to contain them for years and years…not because she suspected she was the Supreme, but just as a result of being fucked up over Fiona.
Who knows what she could be capable of if she wasn’t so afraid to find out?
And think about it…
Who does not want to be the Supreme the MOST?
Cordelia has seen it up close and personal, and she knows how shitty a deal it is. She would never want to be the Supreme. Last episode she made that speech about what a terrible burden it is and how it’s not something to desire.
To those who say Cordelia is too old: This theory explains why she went so long without becoming the Supreme. Here’s why:
1. As I already mentioned, she was more concerned with keeping her powers under control and at a minimum, and she she never developed at the rate the Supreme usually would.
2. The current Supreme (her mother) was nowhere near her for years, and so she couldn’t gain strength from Fiona when she was so far away. Now Fiona is back beside her, and what’s happening? Cordelia is gaining strength, Fiona is losing strength.
The next Supreme, if it is Cordelia, will be old enough and mature enough and experienced enough to lead the Coven in a way that Madison, Zoe, Nan, Queenie or Misty ever could at this point.
Yeah, Misty is powerful, but she’s also completely airy fairy, she’s not a leader. Zoe had her moment with the Zombies, but she’s also made more stupid decisions than good ones. And they need a leader. Cordelia can lead the Coven for a shorter reign than most Supremes (since she’s starting late), get shit back on track, and then hand it over to one of the new girls when they are ready and not still a complete bunch of tools.
Fiona’s redemption can be in Cordelia. If Cordelia goes on to be the great Supreme that she doesn’t believe she ever was herself blah blah blah…
And we all know Ryan Murphy loves himself some Jessica Lange redemption.
Okay, I’m probably SO wrong, but whatevs, if I was Ryan Murphy, that would be my ending!
Okay, idk about everyone else but I still think Cordelia could be the next Supreme.
